Ingredients
Bengalgram powder : 1 cup
Sugar : 2 cups
Oil : ½ cup
Ghee : 1½ cups
Water : ½ cup
Method:
Mix sugar in water in a bowl and boil. When sugar dissolves, strain. keep the bowl on the stove and stir till it is thick. Drop a spoonful of syrup in a small bowl of water. We must be able to roll the syrup into a ball. At this point start adding gram flour little at a time. keep on stirring. In another stove mix oil and ghee in a bowl and heat. when the powder is mixed well with the syrup, start adding ghee and keep on stirring till all ghee is added. At one point, ghee starts emanating from the mix. At this point pour the contents in a tray. Cut into pieces when still hot.
P.S. The constituency of the syrup is very important. Half part of vanaspathi can be used instead of ghee if preferred.
