Pepper Vada

Ingredients

Whole black gram dal : 2 cups

Asafoetida : 1 tsp

Peppercorns : 1 tbsp

Cummin : 1 tbsp

Salt : 1 tsp

Oil : as needed

Method 

Soak the dal in water for an hour. Drain the water and grind coarsely in a mixie without adding water. Grind peppercorns and Cummin into coarse powder. Add the ground pepper, salt, asafetida to the ground dal. Heat oil in a frying pan. Take a small ball of dough, flatten it thinly on a plastic sheet and fry in oil. Remove when cooked.
