Ingredients

Raw rice : 4 cups 
Whole Black gram dal : 1¾ cup 
Ghee : 2 tsp 
Salt : 1 tsp 
Oil : as needed

Method

Wash rice and dry it in the sun, Fry the dal till it emanates smell. Grind rice and dal in the machine. Sieve the powder. Mix powder, salt, ghee and water in a bowl to make a dough. Heat oil in a frying pan. Press Thaenkuzhal into the oil with the help of a mould. Remove when cooked.

P.S. The powder must be sieved well. Otherwise the Thaenkuzhal may splutter.
